Hi Bruce!
I worked at PGI from July 1992 until September 1995, and again with the same group under a new company (Gryphon Technologies) from 2005 until 2009. I first interviewed (for the position of Analyst at PGI, on Pier Rd at the Cape) with Carl Hartdegen in March of 1990 (while I was a physics graduate student at FIT) but he later decided not to hire because of uncertainty regarding their Air Force contract (main contract was with Navy). Two years later I was hired by Tom Graves, however 3 years after that, they lost their AF contract and so 6 or 7 of us were laid off.
My work at PGI was during the transition of SMILS to PILS, so I became involved with GPS positioning and navigation that has led to my current work with satellite orbit determination. So I truly benefitted greatly from my brief experience with PGI. I remember PGI as being a very unusual (and quaint, in the best sense of the word) small nonprofit organization.
Regards,
Bill.
